1. Polystyrene. The company that produced the interior for Somerset House's "Wouldn't It Be Nice...", Kordek, have also worked with the RCA and provided a set for Tim Burton's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. Have a look at the 'Creative Solutions' section of their site.
2. Surgery lighting. It's a bit of a wild card but I think that if we're going for a minimal, clinically clean exhibition space, adjustable surgery lights could be good. I doubt we can ceiling mount them as shown in the image but stand alone ones could be used over reading areas, portfolio viewing areas etc. No idea where to borrow them from though.
3. Golf sale signs. If we're going for something more vibrant, I love the idea of strong, bold statement signs scattered around the space, as if we've just finished a protest or have been out advertising on the streets.
4. Tape. Packing tape, insulating tape, whatever. Again, something that could be used if we decide on something colourful and playful rather than overly slick. I saw this method of displaying work at the Barbara Hulanicki private view earlier in the year, an image can be viewed here if you can look past Kate Moss to the wall behind her.
